American Idiot on Broadway

New to Broadway is the stage-musical version of rock band Green Day's American Idiot. The performance includes little dialogue but does include chugged bears, a couple of joints, some syringes of heroin, an overdose, a drug-related suicide and a bout of realistic looking sex on a futon. However, the play is still seen as inevitably corny and critics say it could have used more bite.

Some playgoers say they were huge fans of Green Day but thought the play was garbage. People say the show appeared to be thrown together too fast, the choreography wasn't good, the story jumps around and the plot didn't make any sense. They also feel that the show was a joke, couldn't be taken seriously and contained no real meaning. Several feel that it was the worst thing to hit Broadway and are predicting an early close for the musical. Others disagree and feel that the music was good and the cast was very talented. Some viewers say that the play combines pure entertainment with a powerful message. Although, there are people who left the theater with the impression that the play was alright or even awesome.
